Event Sound and Microphone Checklist

What to tell your vendor about PA, microphones and sound for speeches, performances and announcements at an event in Singapore.

Describe the programme before choosing equipment

BounceParkSG's audio visual catalogue lists equipment for announcements, hosting, playback, live performance and lighting. Send the run sheet and explain which of those jobs your event needs. This is a brief for the vendor, not an engineering specification.

Catalogue optionPublished purpose
Portable PA SystemSpeaker, stand and mic setup for announcements and background music.
Wireless MicrophonesHandheld wireless microphones for an emcee, speeches and prize presentations.
Audio MixerA mixing desk for balancing emcee audio, music and playback.
Speakers & StandsSpeakers positioned for the room and programme.
Live Band SetupStage audio for a live band.
UplightingColoured uplights for walls, pillars and stage backdrops.
Stage Wash LightingFront lighting for the stage.
Festoon & String LightingOverhead string lighting for outdoor and tentage areas.

Explain what happens at each point in the programme

List who will speak, which segments need music or playback and whether a live act is involved. If you also need an emcee or performer, identify that as part of the brief. Do not assume every sound booking includes the same microphones, a technician or a live-band package.

Share venue and access information

Send the indoor/outdoor setting, layout, audience area, stage or speaking position and the venue's power arrangements and restrictions. Ask the vendor to confirm the equipment and placement. An outdoor event does not automatically need more power than every indoor event; the programme and venue need to be assessed together.

Keep lighting choices specific

Wall colour, stage visibility and overhead decorative lighting are different requests. The catalogue lists options for each, but no universal lighting package is implied. Ask what the selected equipment, installation and operating scope will be.

Send this with your enquiry

  • Date, venue, programme and desired operating period.
  • Speech, hosting, playback, live-performance and lighting requirements.
  • Expected audience, layout, access and venue restrictions.
  • Available facilities and any requirements supplied by the venue.
  • A quotation confirming selected equipment, setup, collection and technical support.

Questions before you book

The audio visual page lists a Portable PA System, Wireless Microphones, Audio Mixer, Speakers and Stands, and Live Band Setup, alongside lighting options. Confirm the selected equipment and operating scope in your quotation.

No single setup is specified here. Send the programme, audience area, venue layout and available facilities so the vendor can confirm equipment, placement and any technical support.
